Scouts is open to all girls and boys between the ages of 10 and 14.5. Scouting gives young people the opportunity to learn by doing and have fun with friends at the same time.
As much time is spent outdoors as the weather permits. From March to September most evenings are spent training for camps and more rugged pursuits. All our Scouts will have at least three opportunities a year to go camping. In all activities we encourage Scouts to achieve their full potential and reinforce their promise 'to do my best'.
The Troop is split up into patrols made up of youngsters of varying ages. Each patrol has a Patrol Leader (PL) and Assistant Patrol Leader (APL) who are in charge of their team. The PL's together with the Leaders form a Leadership Team that decides what the weekly program encompasses and which activities to take part in.
Activities in any given year may well include the majority of games, fire lighting, camping, cooking on fires, orienteering, canoeing, rafting, pioneering, archery, rifle shooting, climbing, abseiling, ice climbing, go karting, team building exercises and hiking.
