Chanukah Party Extravaganza

Over 300 adults and children packed out the Chanukah Party Extravaganza, on Motza’ei Shabbat (5th night of Chanukah 2007), organised by Edgware United’s then Community Development Rabbi, Rabbi Steven Gaffin, and his team led by Natalie and Matthew Jackson. The evening began in the Shul hall, with the children making their own Chanukah arts and crafts, bouncing on one of the two bouncy castles and consuming unlimited helpings of candy floss. After ample servings of hotdogs and crisps (and of course healthy slices of carrots and cucumber!!), the children were entertained by Adam Ant for half an hour or so. Rabbi Gaffin then lit the Chanukah candles and led the singing of Maot Tzur.

The party moved into the Shul’s car park where everyone was entertained by a brilliant fireworks display with over 400 rockets lighting up the night sky. “It was brill” said a young enthusiast! More events will be organised during in 2008.
